MANY of these poems have appeared in the Bulletin, some of them first saw light of day in The Amateur Gardener, while one or two appeared in the North Shore and Manly Times. To the editors of these journals, I offer my thanks for the permission to re-print same here. But the majority of the verses are quite new to my readers. They belong to the past as well as to the present. My heart is in them all.
